The Perfect Christmas

I must say this was my favorite Christmas ever
  1. Because of Kennedy: She is the best gift in the entire world
  2. Because Jeremy put a twist on opening presents
  3. Because we were spoiled by our families (probably because of Kennedy)

For Christmas I told Jeremy I just wanted to be able to buy some clothes and shoes for Christmas. I haven't really bought anything for the past 9 months because its not that fun buying clothes when you're big and pregnant.

So Jeremy decided to put a twist on Christmas. I played Deal or No Deal. He wrapped 16 presents. This is what was inside all 16.

1- dollar in pennies
1- dollar in nickels
1- dollar in dimes
1- dollar in 2 fifty cent pieces
1- two dollar bill
 1- 5 dollar bill
1- 10 dollar bill
1- 20 dollar bill
1- 50 dollar bill
1- 100 dollar bill
4- 25 dollar mall gift cards
TOTAL: $100.00 to the mall & $193.00 in cash
my presents
my presents all lined up
TP= top prize and WP= worst prize

I won the 10 dollar bill but I still got everything after the game was over :) I also got a gym pass! I was really excited about that!

Kennedy got a "mobile gym"

We just love this girl!

Jeremy got some Sony PS3 Gaming headphones, a graphics card, a mouse pad (with a picture of his two favorite girls), speakers, and shoes. We also got lots of cash and gift cards from our families.

WE were very blessed this Christmas. Such a good Christmas.

Hope everyone else had a perfect Christmas

Love

Kennedy is 2 weeks today

She had her 2 week appointment today. She weighs 6 pounds 6 ounces. She is in the 8%. She is 19.25 inches long and in the 12%. Her head is 13.5 and that is also in the 12%. She is still just a little one.

Jeremy and I both are just a little obsessed with her!

Jeremy has been so good at getting up with her at night, changing diapers and pretty much just being a great dad.

We can't get enough of her we are just smitten

Kennedy Conterio

Kennedy Conterio
Born: November 28th 2011
Weight: 6 pounds 4 ounces
Height: 19 inches
Time: 12:03 PM

Birth Story:

Friday November 25th: I started to feel cramping they were consistent and were about 8 minutes apart but they never got closer. That night I woke up about four times with really bad cramping/contractions but it would be one and then just very mild cramping would follow.

Saturday November 26th: Throughout the day I had the same thing but nothing really painful it was all just mild cramping.

Sunday November 27th: I went over to my Moms around 3:00 pm I still had the mild cramping off and on throughout the day. Her birthday was the next day so she told me to come back that night and jump on the tramp. I told her I was not going to come back so I would just do it then. I went outside and just bounced for about 3 minutes on the tramp and left. At about 4:00 pm I started to have contractions 5 minutes apart in my back. They were consistent and were very painful. Jeremy called the doctor and he said if they remained like that for an hour to come to the hospital. At about 5:15 pm we were at the hospital. They hooked me up on the machines so we could see her heartbeat and my contractions. They were about 3 minutes apart at this point. They checked me and I was about 70 effaced and not dilated. They decided to keep me to see if things would change. Three hours later I was still the same. They gave me some morphine and that slowed my contractions down to six minutes and helped with the pain. They sent me home. As soon as I got home the contractions came back to about 2-3 minutes apart. I took a bath and that helped. We watch Dexter to try to get my mind off of things. At about 12:00 am I tried to go to sleep. I was in so much pain at this point I thought I may die. I told Jeremy I couldn't take the pain and we had to go back to the hospital. We went back to the hospital and they hooked me back up to everything and checked me again. I was still not dilated but I was about 90% effaced. She told me they would keep me to see if things changed. They gave me more morphine which did absolutely nothing. At 3:00 AM they came back to check me. I was dilated to about 1 and still 90% effaced. They decided to keep me because I was in so much pain. I was finally officially admitted then. After 12 hours of the worst pain I have ever felt in my life I was given an epidural to relieve the pain. They gave me pitocin and from 4-8 am I dilated to a 4. At 8:00 am they broke my water. Jeremy about passed out. In the next hour I dilated from a 4 to an 8. Then.. I started to feel the worst pain of my life again. My epidural had started to wear off. It was unbearable and I thought I was dying once again. The Doctor was in surgery and couldn't come give me more pain so for the next hour I could feel everything once again. I was so angry I told the nurses to find another Doctor ASAP! Finally someone came in and gave me more but I was dilating so fast it took so long to catch up. Finally at about 10:30am I was dilated to 10. They waited until about 11:00 am for me to start pushing. At 12:03 PM November 28th 2011. Kennedy Conterio decided to enter the world.

Problem Starts:

Kennedy's cord was wrapped around her neck which caused her to have a bowel movement and swallow the Meconium. This is something that happens often but Kennedy's case was a level 3 out of 4. They took her to the NICU after birth. Jeremy was able to go with her. Kennedy oxygen level was low because of her swallowing the Meconium so she had a CPAP placed on her. They said if they could get her off of it they would release her from NICU. She was not able to get off of it without her oxygen and respiratory rate dropping so they admitted her to the NICU.
Tuesday: They were able to get her off the CPAP. But her CRP level was still high so they said they were going to keep her.
Wednesday: They told us if her CRP level had dropped below a 2 we would be able to take her home Friday. Her CRP level was at a 7.1
Thursday: Her CRP level came back 3.9. Although it had dropped a lot since Wednesday it was still not enough. They told us she would now at least need to stay until Sunday. They need to do a full seven says of antibiotics. Thursday was a very hard day. I thought I was going to maybe get to take my baby home then next day and my dreams were shot. Then the Doctor came up to me asking if they could to a spinal meningitis test on her. I would have to give my consent. It was a little procedure that took about an hour. They would go into her spine and take some fluid to see if she maybe had spinal meningitis. The preliminary results came back negative which is a very good thing. They won't know the full results until Sunday but they said its already a good sign she doesn't have it.
Friday: Today Kennedy has been doing great. She is nursing perfectly. Everything is looking good. They won't do anymore tests until Sunday so now we just wait.

This has been a very hard thing for Jeremy and I. Jeremy has been so great though and positive with everything. You hope and never really think anything will go wrong with your baby. When I left the hospital for the first time and we pulled into our home I just cried. It was so hard not to have her with us. I was released Wednesday but they have put me in a sleep room so that I am able to nurse her at night I am at the hospital about 23 hours a day. I usually go home for about an hour to shower and get anything I need and then I head back to the hospital. It is hard to leave for long because whenever she is awake I want to be there and I have to nurse her anyways when she is awake. We want Kennedy to be healthy when she comes home so we know its best for her to be here. Thanks for all the prayers for Kennedy and our little family. Hopefully Sunday will be the day she can come home!

Now here are pictures of our beautiful girl!

39 weeks

Our sweet baby girl

We are ready for you! Anytime you want to come.. in the next second, ten seconds, 1 minute..Right now.. you decide we are ready. I am due in 5 days now but I am not sure which of those days you will decided to come or if any of those days maybe it will be sometime in the next seven after that. Grandpa Thomas's birthday is tomorrow and Grandma Harrison's birthday is Monday so they both want you to come on their birthday. Either is fine with me just come already..please.. My stomach is about to pop I really think so.. this week I found my first stretch marks.. if you wondered if I was a little upset you can only image making it to 39 weeks without any and then seeing multiple in one day. But this baby girl is all worth it every single one of those beauties. This past week was Thanksgiving.. I have so much to be thankful for.. like.. YOU! I am so excited to see you and finally hold you! I am also thankful for your Dad he still makes me feel pretty even though my face is round and every other part of my body is caring just a little extra fat :) He told me he likes my chubby toes. We have a good laugh every time we look at them. This next week we get to move and get your room all set up I am so excited! If you come before we move that is totally fine don't even worry about waiting until after. I had some cramp/contractions last night. They got to 8 minutes apart but weren't too intense. They never got closer. I had about 4 wake me up last night but then I wouldn't have another strong one for an hour or two. Today they have just kind of gone away. I thought you were coming.. but you decided to wait.. just don't wait to long. Hopefully this will be my last post about waiting.. next post can be about your arrival.

38 weeks

Our sweet little baby girl,

Not much is changing with you. You are still in the same range for length and weight. You are most likely just putting on the pounds now. You may have some hair and you are slowly shedding the white goo on your skin. We are ready for you. This past week was our shower and we got a ton of really great things for you! Then this week I just finished up the shopping to make sure we had everything. I believe we are good to go. My original due date was Tuesday November 15th so that came and went. I am about to pop so if you are willing to come we will take ya at anytime. I have been going on walks and even tried out the tramp at Grandmas but still nothing. We are very excited for your arrival! Thanksgiving is next Thursday, if you were to come before that would sure give us something to be really thankful for ;)
Today I put up the Christmas tree since we aren't sure when you are coming it is good to be prepared right? Today we came up with another name for you. We had one kind of picked out but we want to see you first. Today Grandma said one and we kind of like it. We will have to see :)

Preview Babies Room

We are moving..sorta.. the weekend our little baby girl is due..

So I have everything to do for her room but I am not able to put it together yet.

So here is a little preview of what her room will look like:

The wall her crib will sit on is the only wall that will have the pink/red-ish paint. I am copying a pottery barn room.

Her paint is not as dark but it does resemble this color. Then I will have the three picture frames just like this.

Here is her crib

Her bedding I copied from a friend Aly. I absolutely fell in love with the bedding she had but she said she had it made but she gave me the fabric name. Lucky I have family and friends that sew. So here is her quilt my amazing friend Lizzy made for me. I made the pillows and her bumper my mother is still working on but it is going to be absolutely beautiful too.

Her changing table I got from my sister-in-law and painted it white. Then the baskets I got from a broken dresser and painted those white also. I added a few touches and here it is. My mother made her  changing table pad cover.

Then above the changing table is a cream wall and I am going to hand paint some flowers with the same color as the wall behind her crib. These are what they will look like. Simple but pretty.

My sister gave me her amazing rocking chair. I will have that in the corner of the room with this above it.

I still need to add some more cream into the mix
Then to the side of the rocking chair I bought this darling wall decal

I hope you got a little idea of how her room will turn out. When it is complete I will post some pictures so you can all see.

I have some other things that will be hung and decorated with but this is just the big stuff :)

Here are some more fun pictures!
Some clothes just waiting to be worn.

My friends for my shower got me this bassinet. I was so excited because I really wanted one! Look how cute it is!
