I hate "field" aka student teaching

I hate sitting in an elementary classroom for 8 hours.

 I hate being bored out of my mind. 

Why am I going into Elementary Education you may ask?

 I am not...

 I am only graduating in it because I thought I wanted to teach

 but...

 got to far into when I realized I don't!

Anthroplogie Pillow

So I mentioned before I wanted to make this pillow.

So.. I got a new sewing machine for Valentines day 

The only problem is a haven't sewed since my Jr. High sewing class so I took what I remembered and here is what I got.

I laid out my fabric

Measured it and made some marks where I wanted to cut

I was making it a 26 by 26 pillow so I cut the fabric 4 inches bigger.

Folded the fabric and pinned it. Then I sewed to hold in place

I hand stitched along the edge to get the gathered look

This is what it looked like

Then sewed next to the gathers stitch 

Then I sewed the two sides together facing the inside. Then flipped inside out and sewed an extra piece of fabric in the middle also while gathering to get a more gathered look. Here is how it turned out.

Its a very large pillow and I love how it turned out!

This pillow at anthropologie is $58.00. I made this pillow for $14.00. I would say you could make it for less expensive. I bought this fabric for $9.99 a yard. There was some fabric for only $2.50 a yard so depending on the fabric it could be less expensive then that.

Pax's Birthday Banners

My sister-in-law Stephanie and I  made some cute banners for my nephews birthday party. His birthday theme is breakfast so she is doing a cereal and pancake bar. They turned out way cute. It was my fist time doing a banner but it was really easy. We just got some background paper and cut it in some different designs. Then we put white paper on top, added the letters, and some extra pieces. Then we punched holes and threaded the ribbon.

I love these pillows and have been eyeing them forever now

so I am going to try to make them

Misquite Trip

Okay so I posted "Wendover Trip" before but that was a lie. It was a trip to Misquite for the weekend with all our friends! It was so fun! We stay in a nice condo with everyone. It was a nice needed get away trip! I had a lot of fun. I took some photos but I am to lazy to add them so here are some from my phone.
